After much speculation and a couple of false reports, Marvel and Sony have finally decided on who will be playing the web swinger in Marvel’s upcoming films. Previously, it was thought that Ender’s Game star Asa Butterfield had the role, but that proved to be false.

Marvel had expressed interest with going with a younger Spider-man (possibly to distance themselves from his other film incarnations) and it seems that young Mr. Holland definitely fits that bill. The character is supposed to make his debut in some capacity in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War.
