The Mummy (full trailer)

Universal has unveiled the full trailer for the beginning of their shared monster universe in The Mummy.  The story follows Tom Cruise’s character as he is seemly resurrected by a powerful long-dead princess who seeks to find him so that she may return to power and overtake the earth.  The trailer features some incredible visuals and of course one of the greatest songs ever written accompanying it.

Much will hinge on the success of this film considering it is to be the cornerstone of a universe franchise.  Based off of the trailer, I believe that they are off to a good start.  Tom Cruise generally doesn’t make bad choices.  We will know for sure when the film is released on June 9th.  Tell me what you think after you view the trailer below.

War for the Planet of the Apes- trailer #2

In a day that seems to be full of trailer releases, yet another one has been “dropped” today.  The second trailer for War of the Planet of the Apes, was released and it looks as if it will not disappoint.  Humans and Apes now stand at full war, both fighting for their survival.  So far, this series has been pretty impressive.  Hopefully, the third one will continue the streak.  View the trailer for yourself below:

Game of Thrones (trailer #1)

HBO has released the first trailer for the upcoming season of Game of Thrones.  The trailer heavily features the three characters who have a claim to the throne, with a brief glimpse of the white walkers.  The trailer does a good job of establishing both the mood and the conflict for the upcoming season which premieres in July.  You can view the trailer for yourself below:

The Destiny 2 trailer!!!

After a well-received teaser yesterday, the good people at Bungie have finally released their first trailer for the much anticipated follow up to their hit Destiny.  The original game was a hit, but did not deliver on everything that it promised until the 2nd or 3rd DLC.  But, I must must say the game got better and better with each DLC; if that trend continues, then Destiny 2 should be a winner.

Based on the trailer (which is far funnier than I expected), it looks as if the guardians are at it again, starting from scratch after their last defeat to right the wrongs that they have been dealt.  In the trailer, Nathan Fillion’s Cayde character takes center stage in “rallying” his troops.  While other guardian leaders do the same.

Destiny 2 will be out September 8th, with pre-orders already available.  You can view the trailer below:

It (the teaser)

Finally… the much anticipated (especially by me) trailer for the film It.  I will be the first to say that it does not disappoint.  The filmmakers seem to have captured the tone and feel of the novel.  The trailer is both suspenseful and terrifying.  While we don’t get to hear the voice of the clown, we see several images of it that gives us a sense of its aesthetic look.  Overall, this trailer has surpassed my expectations.  I can only hope that the film as a whole will not disappoint.  View the trailer below:
