Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

After an earlier teaser, Warner Brothers released the full trailer for their upcoming film set in the Harry Potter universe, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.  The trailer which brings in the quite familiar Harry Potter theme near the end, does an impressive job of painting an earlier wizarding world in America.  The trailer also gives us an idea of the tone and theme of the film which to me seemed to be dark with a bit of whimsy.  Either way, you can decide for yourself when you view below:

Suicide Squad trailer #2

No matter what you think of the trailers themselves, you have to give it to the people that have made the Suicide Squad trailers, they sure know what they are doing in terms of the music.  The first trailer’s music, set to “Bohemian Rhapsody”, captured the chaotic mood perfectly.  This second trailer now uses Ballroom Blitz to perfection as well.

As for the content of the actual trailer itself, once again, it does not disappoint.  Like Deadpool before it, this may be one of the sleeper hits of this year.  Watch for yourself below and decide:

Star Wars: Rogue One

After much anticipation, the trailer for the first standalone Star Wars movie has been released, and I must say that it is quite an interesting experience. Gone are the incredibly high expectations of continuing a story with pre-established characters that we as the audience have a certain level of expectation for. Instead we have a whole new slew of characters that we have no expectations for, who are playing out a story that has only been touched upon briefly. I think that makes this trailer incredibly effective. The only question left is which recognizable characters are left to reveal? Will it be Vader or Boba Fett? Decide for yourself when you view below:

The BFG

After numerous teasers, the trailer has arrived for the Steven Spielberg-directed adaptation of Roald Dahl’s classic The BFG. As one of Dahl’s lesser known, but more often more beloved stories, this was a story that seemed ripe for a feature film. The trailer itself does not disappoint, it seems that the seamless blending of CGI and live action will be used to tell one of the most touching tales that I read as a child.
