The Minions Are Coming

Illumination has released the teaser for the upcoming spin-off of Despicable Me. Apparently, we will be treated to the lengthy history of the minions and their search for an evil leader. Personally, I will see the movie just to hear the little guys talk. Enjoy.

The Furious 7 Trailer

After weeks of teasing, the trailer for Furious 7 has finally been released. It once again boasts physics-defying, crazy action that seeks to entertain rather than provoke thought. Something of note though; the shot at the end of the trailer in which Vin Diesel refers to his friends being family immediately cuts to Paul Walker, a fitting tribute to his late friend. Enjoy!

The Final Hunger Games Trailer

Lionsgate has released the final Mockingjay: Part I trailer ahead of its November 21st release date. This trailer seems to focus much more on the impending war that will probably take up much of the film. I think with this film, we may have one of the rare instances where the film may be better than the book, simply because the book suffered from not being able to describe certain scenes very well. I guess we will find out in three weeks; in the meantime, enjoy.

Avengers 2 trailer…part deux

Marvel unleashed an extended trailer for the second Avengers movie today. It is 85% the same as the first trailer (which is incredible), but it adds a bit of light-heartedness at the beginning of the trailer before Ultron makes his entrance. Enjoy!

Marvel Reveals All of it’s Upcoming Plans

Last month DC revealed all of its upcoming movies throughout 2020. Marvel has finally responded, revealing their stage 3 plans. Without going totally fanboy on you, I must admit I am pretty excited, especially by the title of the 3rd and 4th Avengers titles. Here is the list of their upcoming movies:

  • Captain America: Civil War (May 6th, 2016)
  • Dr. Strange (Nov. 4th, 2016)
  • Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (May 5th, 2017)
  • Thor: Ragnarok (July 18th, 2017)
  • Black Panther (November 3, 2017)
  • Avengers: Infinity War, Part 1 (May 4th, 2018)
  • Captain Marvel (July 6th, 2018)
  • Inhumans (November 2nd, 2018)
  • Avengers: Infinty War, Part 2 (May 3rd, 2019)

Marvel also recently pointed out that the members of the Avengers may change by the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, which would probably lead us straight into the Marvel Civil War which I wrote about here. Whether or not Steve Rogers survives that war remains to be seen, but from what was has been discussed, Black Panther (played by 42 actor Chadwick Boseman) will appear in Captain America 3; keep in mind the fictitious African nation of Wakanda where Black Panther hails from is also the source of vibranium which is the material that Captain America’s shield is made up of.

Even more exciting is the name of the upcoming Avengers films entitled Infinity War. This implies that all of those infinity stones that we have been seeing throughout the Marvel films will finally be gathered together in the infinity gauntlet, which in the comics was wielded by Thanos, who has previously appeared in the credits scene of The Avengers and in The Guardians of the Galaxy. It seems as if this will be the climactic battle of the series and could feature the Guardians of the Galaxy joining in on the fight.

It seems as if Marvel has all its ducks in a row, and is ready to challenge all of the films that DC has to offer. What does this mean? This means that comic book fans are about to be treated to a Renaissance in terms of the comic book adaptations coming to the big screen. Time to enjoy.
